Minister: Trilateral gas talks possible on Thu if companies ready

MOSCOW, Dec 3 (PRIME) – A gas meeting between Russia, Ukraine, and the E.U. may take place on Thursday if the companies are ready to hold it, Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak told reporters on Tuesday.

“The date has not been coordinated yet as works are still going on between the companies, but if the companies are ready by the date, we will also be ready to hold the meeting on the 5th,” he said.

It is necessary to hold a meeting at the level of experts before a meeting of ministers, he said.

Ukraine stopped direct purchases of Russian gas in 2015. The current gas supply and transit contracts between the countries expire at the end of 2019.
